This week’s #SkinBabe is a helluva impressive lady. I first met Jessica Limeberry at DePauw University when we found ourselves in the same dorm freshman year. Jessica Limeberry is a military wife, mom to 4 sons and owner of 3 businesses - yes, three! #bosslady Jessica owns Sophia’s Bridal and Tux in Greenwood, Indiana and launched an online clothing boutique The Girls in Grey with a few girlfriends. Jessica embodies the phrase Hoosier Hospitality while doing all of it successfully - she’s exudes kindness and humility. Oh, and Jessica also beat cancer earlier this year with a surprising diagnosis of a cancerous tumor in her lung after complaining about shortness of breath. After that scare, #SkinBabe Jessica Limeberry is even more focused on what matters most: her body, her health and her family!

#SkinBabe Jessica Limeberry is a little bit of a self-help junkie: she’s an avid podcast listener (Hi, Rachel Hollis!) and suggests learning about the enneagram to dive more into self-discovery. #SkinBabe Jessica Limeberry is a big advocate of women prioritizing their time on ways to help themselves grow their personal and professional strengths. Jessica argues this emphasis on self-discovery isn’t a focus on inward mobility as much as it is on serving those around you, better. Jessica adds, “it’s so much more fulfilling to live a life that is surrounded by people!” Amen, #SkinBabe!

I love that Nicole has created the #SkinBabe movement - it is full of confidence, and owning the place you are. To me, being a #SkinBabe means loving your life, your opportunities & your skin!

Why Do You Like Skincare, #SkinBabe?

In high school, I struggled with my skin - so I am very appreciative of having better skin now. I’m admittedly not the most consistent when it comes to my skin care, but I love that taking care of my skin forces me to take a little time to myself. I have 4 boys and own a couple businesses and like most moms and working women, it’s easy to put ourselves last on the list! I’ve also recently (April 2018) had a scare with a cancerous tumor that was found in my left lung. I had surgery to remove the lung and saw first hand how amazing the body is. I couldn’t believe how quickly your body could heal or adapt or change. It’s made me much more focused on taking care of my body and making sure I treat it as well as I can!

What's Your Biggest MUST DO for Your Skin, #SkinBabe?

In my whole life, I am a "simple is best" type of girl, so I try to keep my skincare the same. Hydration and sunscreen is my #1. I am currently loving this No7 for Daytime and Monat Oil for night!

What's Your Current Face Routine, #SkinBabe?

In a situation where consistency is key, I am not perfect! Make sure you wash my face every single day and moisturize day and night.

Here is my best secret (and I was given it by a Deremtology nurse friend) - LAVA soap! Yes, the one construction people use on their hands - Ha! It is about $1/bar and I order it in mass amounts on Amazon and share with people. There is something about how small of molecules the soap has that made it a dermatology favorite (and their biggest secret). I’ve been using it over a year and it has a great but gentle exfoliant and my skin has never been better!

What skincare procedures or injectables do you use, #SkinBabe?

I’ve not done much except a facial here and there. I’m obsessed with lash extensions but have recently taken a break - I miss them! I love my girls at Reneu Beauty in Greenwood, Indiana.

Who's Your Favorite #SkinBabe?

How will I name just 1?! I am blessed with so many sweet friends who rock their everyday life, grow big businesses and juggle a houseful of kids. But Claire Black, my best friend and one of the co-owners of The Girls in Grey, is always giving me tips, trying out the latest products and up on the trends. Virtually, I love Rachel Hollis and her no apologies approach to her life and her skin!

What's the best advice you can give to women when it comes to skincare and confidence, #SkinBabe?

The past few years I’ve done a lot of personal growth and self-study and really come to love the unique gifts God gave me. I am not perfect, but I have been given an amazing opportunity to work with women of all ages in a market that services mostly women. I’ve seen first hand the pressure to be perfect, especially when it comes to weddings and big events, and how hard women can be on themselves. My “why” in business, and life, is to empower those around me. To help them see their strengths and show them how to get there. So, never stop learning and growing. Listen to podcasts, read books, take time to learn about yourself. I’d highly suggest learning about the enneagram, and diving into more self discovery, not so that you can focus more inward, but so that you can serve those around you best. It’s so much more fulfilling to live a life that is surrounded by people!
